WHO WE ARE

Flight Training Centre is a purpose-built flight training school co-located with Oberon Aviation Services Pty Ltd.
So as part of their training, our students are exposed to the day-to-day operations of one of Australia’s most experienced general aviation companies focused on delivering operationally ready pilots.

TRAINING BASES

Flight Training Centre is based at Albury Airport in New South Wales, a tower-controlled regional airport connecting Northeast Victoria and Southern New South Wales to Australia and the world.
We also provide flight training out of Wangaratta Aerodrome in North East Victoria and Tocumwal Airport in Murray River country, New South Wales.

Meet Our Team

At Flight Training Centre, our highly experienced pilots bring with them years of flight experience and a wealth of hours spent flying a wide range of aircraft in city, regional and outback settings.
Their valuable insights and seasoned perspective enrich our training programs, benefiting aspiring aviators by offering real-world perspectives and practical knowledge from those who have navigated the skies extensively.

Phil has been involved in aviation for over thirty years with experience in many aircraft types and holds licenses for both fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft, with agricultural ratings, and approvals for low level operations in both. Phil also has significant experience as Managing Director, and Dealer Principal of multiple companies, looking after sixty to seventy employees.
Jonathon is an experienced manager with over twenty years’ experience in aviation training, surveillance and survey projects. Specialising in project management, logistical, quality/safety/risk management systems and operations management. Jonathon’s areas of expertise include Surveying, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Safety/Risk Management. Jonathon has twenty years’ experience in aerial survey / surveillance of electrical and gas assets throughout Australia.

Akhil has been involved in aviation for over twenty years’ aviation experience in many aircraft types including heavy aircraft, specialised survey aircraft, and low-level operations around the world.

Akhil has expertise as an advanced flight instructor which comes in handy as the Head of Training & Checking.

Corey is an experienced pilot with seven years’ experience in flight training. Corey is a senior pilot with training and checking approval and is responsible for assisting and controlling of flying standards of all company pilots.

our Fleet

Flight Training Centre have a tailored flight fleet to meet the training and rating experience required of modern pilots. Our reliable single engine aircraft are ideal for training duties while our twin engine Piper and Cessna Grand Caravan are great aircraft for more advanced training.

Grob G 115C2

Flight Training Centre uses the German made 2-seat Grob G 115C2 for RPL, PPL and CPL training.
It is powered by a 180 HP Lycoming O-360, 4-cylinder engine driving a 2-blade constant speed propellor & cruises at 120 knots.

Cessna R172K

Flight Training Centre has a 4 seat R172K for CPL, instruction and low level training.
It is powered by a 195 HP Continental IO-360, 6-cylinder engine driving a 2-blade constant speed propellor & cruises at 130 knots.

Cessna R182

Our 4 seat R182 is used for instrument rating, CPL, low level and design feature training.
It is powered by a 235 HP Lycoming O-540, 6-cylinder engine driving a 2-blade constant speed propellor & cruises at 145 knots.

Cessna Grand Caravan

Our 10 seat Cessna 208B Grand Caravan is used for CPL and outback strip training.
Powered by a 675 HP Pratt & Whitney PT6-114A engine driving a 3 blade constant speed propellor it cruises at 155 knots.
