Pilot licence training, rating upgrades and courses

Whether you’re looking to learn to fly for your own enjoyment, taking that next step on your pilot licence progression or want to become a fully qualified commercial pilot the Flight Training Centre is the perfect base to further your flying ambitions.

RECREATIONAL PILOT LICENCE (RPL)

The first step to becoming a pilot is to complete your Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL). When you have successfully completed your RPL, you will be able to fly as the pilot in command of light, single engine aircraft without supervision and with one passenger in the training areas around Albury Wodonga. Start with a trial introductory flight!

PRIVATE PILOT LICENCE (PPL)

The second step to becoming an unrestricted pilot is to complete your Private Pilot Licence (PPL). When you have successfully completed your PPL, you will be able to spread your wings and fly as the pilot in command of light, single engine aircraft throughout Australia during the day, carrying passengers, during acceptable weather conditions.

COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENCE (CPL)

The Last step to becoming a Commercial Pilot is to complete your Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL). When you have successful completed your CPL, you will be able to fly during the day, in Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC) for hire and reward, starting what will hopefully be a long and rewarding career in aviation.

GRADE 3 FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR RATING

If you are passionate for flying and love to share your passion, knowledge, and experience, then you might have what it takes to be a Flight Instructor. Instructing is more than a skill; it is sharing the gift of flight with your students and being rewarded as they achieve their goals.

INSTRUMENT RATING

You can further your aviation career by completing an instrument rating, allowing you to confidently navigate and fly using instruments in various weather conditions. We combine hands-on flight instruction and theoretical study, to master instrument flight procedures, precision approaches, and advanced navigation techniques.

GROUND / THEORY COURSES

FLIGHT SIMULATOR TRAINING

Flight Training Centre also utilise the region’s only full motion Redbird Flight Simulator. The FMX’s electric motion platform and wrap-around visual offer a fantastic level of realism within a safe and controlled training environment.
